Waiting

I first heard this song this year during Kira’s online school calls. Aptly titled “Waiting”, the song is played while waiting for their Assembly to start. The link is that Koa Academy has Majozi (proud South African singer and composer) as their Head of Arts and Culture, how progressive!

With a catchy tune, it’s a song about waiting for someone you love or someone to love (and ideally, who loves you back). I’d like to extend it towards waiting to achieve what is meaningful that your heart yearns for. There is beauty in knowing that besides courage, effort and action, we also need the will to persevere across time.

Many clients have mentioned to me they are frustrated with the constant overload and different obstacles at work and life. Often we delve into the “why” and the “how” to gain understanding and solve. When it’s clear that we’re on the right track, making progress for a noteworthy goal, then it’s important to recognize that some things just take time and deserves our waiting. Stay focused, keep a positive mindset, ride out the bumps, keep opening those doors and giving your best.

Waiting by Majozi

Songwriters: Nhlanhla Majozi / Bradley Ian Klynsmith / Ewald Janse Van Rensburg

Sometimes it feels like I do nothing right

I just walk, and walk without the end in sight

Am I fool to do the same thing and hope something changes

Like a fool follow my heart and hope that someone takes it

Sometimes it feels like I'm too innocent

That If I trust, then something good will come of it

Am I a fool to do the same thing and hope something changes

Like a fool give you my heart and hope that you don't break it

I've been waiting, for you all my life

You've been running, through my dreams at night

I've been searching, for the longest time

Tell me darling, when will you be mine

Sometimes I think I see an open door

But I don't go in cause I've been here before

Am I a fool to feel afraid because I don't know her name

Am I a fool to stand in front of her and hope that she stays

I've been waiting, for you all my life

You've been running, through my dreams at night

I've been searching, for the longest time

Tell me darling, when will you be mine

Sometimes I feel like I should never try

Sometimes it feels like I can't do nothing right

Days and the moments, the moments

Days and the moments

You have always been my soldier

I've been waiting, for you all my life

You've been running, through my dreams at night

I've been searching, for the longest time

Tell me darling, when will you be mine
